Guide To Surviving The Michigan High Times Medical Cannabis Cup
Coming out to the High Times Medical Cannabis Cup on Saturday or Sunday, June 11 and 12? Heres a guide on what to do- and what to avoid.
1. BE A PATIENT- AND BE PATIENT
If you are not already registered with the State of Michigan, there will be a physician on-site to do certifications. Bring all relevant medical records with you. Be prepared to present your proofs and identification. If you get there and you did not bring what you need, it is only your fault- dont whine like a baby.
Lines can get long, especially when checking in. Be courteous to your fellow patients and dont gripe or complain; there is a line to get in to every major event, including rock concerts and sporting events.
2. DO NOT SMOKE ON THE WAY
Lots of stories circulate each year about how someone was almost to the Cup but was pulled over by law enforcement. Its a smoking venue, so save your lungs for the party and keep your ass out of jail. Dont bring a car with expired license plates or a burned-out tail light- those are easy reasons to get extra attention from local police.

4. STAY HYDRATED
Drink lots of non-alcoholic fluids. Water is best, but some of those pop-addicted people slam those Dr.s and Mountains like they were going out of style. No matter the beverage, drink and drink and pee- its good for you!
5. STAY FOR THE CONCERT
Melissa Etheridge will be performing a concert for us! Shes a fantastic performer with a personal story about cannabis and healing. Shell tell you about it- and the venue should be waaaaay more cool during her performance time. Possibly the most badass concert High Times has brought to Michigan yet!
6. SPEND MONEY ON NEW STUFF
Need a specialty part for your glassware, or just need a new rig? This is the place to go to satisfy those needs. How about a kick-ass t-shirt, or a piece of memorabilia? You will not find a better selection at any time in this state. Support the vendors that give jobs to Michigan residents. Ask people- where is your business located?
7. TAKE PICTURES, AND SHARE THEM
Many people will not be able to attend the event, for a variety of reasons. Share your pictures on Facebook or Instagram and do videos for Vine and YouTube. When others see how absolutely non-dangerous these events ...
