Time is now to speak up about planned changes to Colorado marijuana regs
Colorado marijuana regulations are a-changing, and you have a chance to weigh in.
The state Marijuana Enforcement Division has opened a window up to Oct. 16 for public comment on the new draft rules.
There are a number of additions for businesses and individuals seeking to conduct cannabis research in Colorado, in areas including clinical applications and study of pesticide use. There are new rules for licensing, research facilities and transfer of marijuana produced in-state that will be used for studies.
Other changes include labeling and packaging requirements, and rules for transfer of marijuana products before they reach the retail market. There are also tweaks that reflect new products on the market, including heat/pressure-based marijuana concentrate manufacturing.
The states regulations are hefty in number: Including the existing regs, there are 201 pages of guidelines for recreational marijuana and 218 pages for medical marijuana. The proposed changes are marked in red type.
