Hybrid Strain Hybrid 50% Sativa /50% Indica

Carl Sagan is a sativa dominant hybrid strain created through a cross of the classic Pre-98 Bubba Kush X Blue Moon Rocks strains. This bud was named for infamous weed activist and Professor of Astronomy and Space Science at Cornell University, Dr. Carl Sagan. Although the exact indica to sativa ratio and THC level are , Carl Sagan is said to have an incredibly high potency with long-lasting effects. The high starts with an almost immediate cerebral head rush that hits you hard in the head with an insanely uplifted and energetic effect that can be overwhelming to some users. You'll feel laser focused and motivated as well as artistically inspired. This bud is ideal for social situations, too, as it makes you incredibly talkative with giggly tendencies when humor is involved. These effects and its high THC level make Carl Sagan perfect for treating chronic stress, mild to moderate cases of depression, chronic pain, muscle spasms or tremors, and chronic fatigue. The flavor of this bud can be too much for some, with a harsh pungent chemical and ammonia taste that has a surprising buttery aftertaste. The smell is of super harsh lemon cleaner, with an earthy effect as the nugs are broken apart. This bud has medium-sized grape-shaped light minty green nugs with rich gold undertones and trichomes as well as a light spattering of tiny amber hairs.

This strain is very helpful in restoring my energy and strength on those days when I wake up hobbled by arthritis pain/stiffness (back, legs) and feeling down and depleted. It restores the feeling of life in my lower body with a noticeable buzz beginning in my tailbone and legs from the first puff smoked. It helps me settle comfortably back into my body, taking some deep breaths, and feel human again. I think this strain has a lot of medicinal value for a lot of people. I think it has first rate anti-depressant properties (and you wouldn't have to use very much unless also physically depleted). It definitely leans to the energizing side, but not as energizing as the purest sativas (Durban Poison, ATF, etc). So if you are exhausted it can be perfectly balanced — energizing, but still relaxing and pain relieving. For those with lower THC (or sativa) tolerance, it could work better mixed with a CBD-only or CBD-dominant strain. I bought Carl Sagan by happenstance as a replacement strain when the dispensary I went to was out of Gelato. I'm glad I did. It is not my everyday strain, but a whole body-mind rescue strain on my worst days of depletion leaving me feeling down. It brings the spark of life back.

I have to say this is a pretty strong strain, it smells fruity and sweet. Has a great taste too the buds (at least where I buy it) is small buds but they burn slower than fluffier weed. I think it's a perfect hybrid enough to make me relax and combat pain but keeps me awake and has actually helped my focus and anxiety quite a bit as well. Needless to say I think Carl Sagan would be proud.
