I have a high tolerance. I was not expecting too much from this strain, from reading other reviews. I smoked 3 hits 3 hours ago and I am still blazing, wow, it must be the tricomes, this is my new favorite strain! This is a super weird indica, it is buzzing out my brain excellently! And it is also very sedating, physically..

Nice indica. Looks beautiful. I will leave pics. Smell great. Nice for evening after work or bedtime. Calm full body high. Great for depression or insomnia
This strain is particularly interesting. It has very peppery (the most notable aroma and taste) followed by immediate fruity diesel notes that kind of all combine together in a spicy berry diesel herbal blend which indicates it has an abundance of beta caryophyllene terpines; this terpine is the only terpine that binds to cannabinoid receptors. It is responsible for causing the sleepiness that so many in these comments have. You are greeted about 90 seconds after your first good toke (it comes on very slowly in a creeping manner) with a happy go lucky attitude that steadily transitions into a heavy body high that will knock you out cold if you consume enough of it, probably where the name came from. This strain is by far not the most potent but it is very strong and some really grizzled smoking veterans might even consider it not very potent even though it is far from a weak strain. I think what happened with most of the negative reviews is that people underestimated its potency and got caught in an unexpected greenout. Always dose accordingly even if it seems unimpressive, the great painter bob ross once said, "You can always add more but its a son of a gun to take it away." This strain WILL catch you by surprise if you take it for being weak. Remember, everyone is different and cannabis affects everyone differently. I speak of my own evaluation of a recent obtaining of 9 pound hammer flower.
The day after I smoked this strain I fully understood how it got it's name! First toke was relatively unimpressive, as was the rest of the bowl. Then, IT HIT ME allll at once! LoL from what I recall, I was happy, hungry and hilarious. And, apparently forgot about the pain, anxiety and depression. Nope, don't like the dopey part or the heaviness the day after. If you want to get high, this bud's for you. I did begin looking up strains before going to the dispensary after that! And now I tell the BudT I don't want to be dopey with all the other specifications. My hometown place has all information on display, beautifully with a glass jar and magnifier showing perfectly grown yuminess.
I take mine in concentrate form, but it only lasts 15 min then WHAM! Out like a drunk baby. I see where it gets the name. I like to use it for sleep.
Got this CO2 concentrate from Sunnyside Dispensary in Champaign, IL. 72.19%THC 1.32% CBG, 2.03%, CBC, 1.89% CBN. This is the best strain I have found for my back pain and anxiety. It also helps with insomnia. It has a great flavor with hints of grapy earth, and a lime like finish. It doesn't take much and my pain is eased. My wife says it makes me stupid. But i don't care as long as the pain is eased. It starts with a nice cerebral high followed by a body high that can tend to couch lock you. Be careful of how much you use. It WILL put you to sleep. As a Disabled Veteran in constant pain, I DEFINATELY recommend this strain concentrate.
Not sure why it's called 9lb hammer -- the batches I have tried have not been especially sedating. Also as some commenters have mentioned, it may not quell anxiety.
Very Impressive! The taste is of spicy sweet fruit the buds look neon green and full of crystals and a instant buzz on after smoking . I wouldn’t recommend this for Newbies . But I would recommend to anyone needing a good strong potent dope
Now this strain here definitely hit hard but after a while I started to get a headache... Didn't like it 👎
Let me rate this strain from the door 👎👎 This strain hits different but not in a good way... Didn't like it 😎💨
Definitely named this for a reason. Leaves ya feeling floaty and a bit disoriented. 8 out of 10 for me. INDICA FOR LIFE
Recently tried 9lb hammer, as it was recommended to me for help with sleep issues. So far, it has worked very well for me. I have not experienced any adverse effects.Slept like a baby last night!
This is a horrible strain for people with anxiety.
9lb Hammer made me completely lose my mind. It did not make me feel anything good. I had extreme paranoia. I am diagnosed bipolar with some psychosis. I had it in distillate form, and felt like I was tripping out, had a severe panic attack, and auditory hallucinations. Not saying this strain caused all of it, but I will definitely never have it again.
9Ib hammer is one of the best strains I’ve had, the taste is unbelievable and it give you an amazing high
Just got an 8th from fl. The 9 lb hammer is the best for my back pain and anxiety associated with it. It tastes great in my bowl. And doesn't make me hungry but i an def smoking another bowl after this review so i can sleep. Thanks truelieve. Aka Kenny Rogers.
One of my most favorite strains! Rarely see it in flower in the shops anymore, would love to see a resurgence of this tasty and potent bud.
.....delicious, & nutritious =)
I can't use it. It triggers my PTSD. The last time I tried it I was up for 3 days. It is crucial to remember that not all strains of cannabis affect all of us the same way. I have several friends with PTSD who also cannot tolerate this strain.
9lb Hammer without you I would be in the slammer. Nice calm relaxing high. Good for unwinding after work. Has a Very strong bud taste with pungent skunky aftertaste upon exhale. Great for relieving that achy back, my pain is manageable now. Gets that belly going also wanting something to eat. One of the better strains Trulieve carries down here in FL. 19% THC
Yup hits you like a 9lb hammer..slight harsh buzz imediately then in 5 min a wonderful happy relaxed buzz. Really is my go to for pain and good sleep... Tastes great. Grapey earthy ... Yup like it alot.
Just bought this from Trulieve and enjoyed a bowl right before I called it a night and must say I felt like I got hit upside the head with a hammer. I did sleep for 5 hours which is a lot better than my normal two hours at a time. The taste I did find to be a bit harsh, but the over all effect is worth it.
Acquired from Truleive Florida in vape pen form and flower (smoked). This is the first strain I bought over a year ago. I had great hopes from the name that it would conquer my insomnia but it was not to be. This strain didn't hit me as an Indica at all. More like a even hybrid. I've stopped purchasing it in favor of Gorilla Grapes or Lemon OG, both of which have more Indica affects than 9 pound. Tastes good, looks good. But more of a tap to me than a hammer blow.
Excellent overall, using at night after a day of sativa use..........
Bud from the sealed medical package..first crack open and it smelled like hay. Bummer..very small nugs.. looks OK.. nothing spectacular. From the grinder a little better smell and breaks up clean. On first toke a real thump in the head.. ugh..tastes ok, smooth..a little coughing. Boom..Indica sublime. Has that heavy head and body high. very strong herb. I like it. Not in love with the taste but hey the effect is there..cant smoke many hits without buzzing heavy. You'll like 9 Pound Hammer.
I call this one the hammer it knocks even arthritis pain right out and it also makes me sleep like a baby. Which means after 2 pulls of the concentrate I'm good.
I've used these guys numerous times now, and have had great service and great experience. The last time I tried Platinum Jack and it was amazing. Delivered as advertised: shoulder pain greatly eased and a burst of creative focus with a euphoric sense.
Love it, get sleepy fast. Has good taste and oder.
This is one of my favorite strains since I started buying in February ... Top 3 overall
Pretty great, it worked really well to help me sleep and to help alleviate the pain of my migraine the other day. I was not expecting such a sweet smell when I opened the package, but it's real nice.
I love this strain it gives me the best sleep! I am so relaxed when using this strain that I glide into amazing sleep while forgetting about my pain.
Presents incredibly well, the buds look as if they were rolled in crystals... The aromas are mild at first but once cracked a strong OG/KUSH smell...very aromatic , skunky. The flavor is sweet and i taste almost like a orange or tangerine... excellent for pain, nausea, insomnia, depression...very very powerful cerebral high, best of all it presents insanely well.
Love. love, love it! Tried 9 pound blueberry last week, OMG!
Most excellent. Happy, Trancey & sleepy. Thunk.
Tried the vape oil.. loved it! Works great for the pain..nice pure taste..
I love 9lb hammer. . . has anyone ever tried a concentrate made from 9 lb hammer? I want my ppl to carry it. . . For now we will enjoy the flowers! Def a fave strain !!
Out standing helps alot
Easy to grow. One of the frostiest strains ever. My cut grows tall and finishes in 6 weeks, amazingly fast. The buds are tight resin rocks. Should make fantastic, early outdoor.
Very stong Indica. I'm personally not the biggest Indica fan, but this one does the job with force.
This is some great bud
Cheah dude these buds are freaking potent. 5 thumbs up.
My favorite Indica
Love it mmmmm nikki
I get migraines once or twice a week. Real ones not just headaches. I was having a migraine that had me puking on the bathroom floor in the dark. I had my roommate load a bowl for me (it was his first time doing that lol). It took under 30 seconds after my first hit to COMPLETELY rid me of my migraine. I was in total awe of how quickly it worked and how good I felt! Normally a migraine sets me out for a few days. The RX meds only make me sleepy and sad. I am so in love with 9 Pound Hammer that I've decided to try growing it. Seriously, this is great for pain relief, anxiety...and t makes you a little frisky too!!
Great strain for pain, and stress. It helps lessen the chance of siezures.
