Transkei is a 100% pure sativa strain that is a landrace native to the regions of Africa. Known for its super motivating high, Transkei packs a punch of effects that are perfect for getting you energized and ready to take on your day on a lazy or sleepy morning when you just can’t seem to get out of bed. The effects hit you like a train, slamming into your brain with high-flying energy and motivation. You’ll feel your senses sharpen and a heavy focus settle in, lending itself well to any mental task at hand. This can be heady at times, leaving you unable to really participate too heavily in conversations but still perfectly happy about it. In combination with its high 14-18% average THC level, these effects give Transkei an edge in treating a variety of conditions including ADD or ADHD, chronic fatigue, depression, chronic stress and headaches or migraines. This bud has a sweet and fruity berry grape flavor with a lightly sour and citrusy exhale. The aroma is very similar, with an earthy and sour overtone that’s accented by fresh fruits and spicy grapes. Transkei buds have airy grape-shaped forest green nugs with minty undertones, thin clear hairs and a coating of tiny white crystal trichomes.

My all time favourite sativa, apart from Haze. There are several sub-species of Transkei so there is variation. Some of the local names are Transkei Gold, Transkei Red, Coffee Bay Kei etc. This is getting very hard to find nowadays, even in S.A. I believe this to be a relative of Swazi Gold, but with it's own genetic variations. Typically light green, full of red calyxes and smells very fruity, leaning towards lime. The taste is between citrus to herbal/flowery. The high is very noticeable in your eyes (pressure) and is very uplifting and happy. No paranoia whatsoever. THC can exceed 22% and it likely contains THC-V as well.
