Acapulco Gold Marijuana Strain

Sativa Dominant Hybrid Strain Sativa Dominant Hybrid 80% Sativa / 20% Indica

THC: 19% - 24%

This famous sativa-dominant hybrid, which has an 80:20 sativa/indica ratio, combines a powerful head high with a soothing body high that last for at least two hours. Acapulco Gold originated in Acapulco, Mexico, but no one seems to remember who first grew it or what parent strains were used. Acapulco Gold is pretty hard to find because it's difficult to grow indoors, but it's popular throughout the United States, especially in warmer climes. It's best used to treat anxiety, depression, and chronic pain, but it's also good for insomnia and headaches, as well as some mental disorders. This strain can be especially powerful, with THC levels as high as 24%. It has a distinct earthy flavor and aroma, with a taste of chestnut and tealeaves. As with most strains, the most likely adverse effects are dry eyes and dry mouth. Paranoia and dizziness are also possible but less common. Acapulco Gold is most popular in the Western United States, the Upper Midwest, and the desert Southwest. It often costs more than other strains because of its potency and the beautiful gold-tinged appearance of its bud.

Goe payodie joe..

Acapulco Gold was the 1st Sativa Hybrid in Mexico. It was a breakthrough for lower density and is stellar today as one of the best-balanced Sativa strains, period. Very happy and not racy, happy and great for headaches! One of my top ten even today!

It's reputation is well-earned! Generally I usually avoid sativas because of the anxiety/racing thoughts they tend to produce, but given this strain's notoriety, I had to try it once. People's reaction to any of these strains can be different, but all I can write is that after a week I have had no issues with anxiety or anything else negative (save the usual munchies) with AG. Actually, this didn't seem like the kind of sativa I've seen described before; I was too mellow to begin any kind of work project, so perhaps a different sativa is better if you want to work on your car's transmission or something. If you just want a nice and chill late afternoon/evening, this strain is the best I've found to help make that possible.

Everybody's biology is different as far as how they react to any of these strains, but this doesn't seem like the kind of sativa I've heard described; I was too mellow to start any work project, so another sativa might be better if you plan to work on your car's transmission or something. If you just want a chill, late afternoon/evening strain, you'll be hard pressed to do better than AG!

I'm 66 years old (like, WOW! how did that happen!) and turned on in 1970. I remember well the different bits of what we called then, commercial grass, imported not home grown. Of course who doesn't still enjoy the refrain, "No stems, no seeds, Acapulco gold is badass weed" anyhoo, I got seeds from barney's farm and have to say the high took me right back to the highs of my youth. And that was from a crop that I had to finish a week or so early cos of mould, so I'm looking forward to my second attempt with better light, nutrient control etc. Keep on keeping on...

One of my top five favorite Buds I am 60yrs old I remember this back in the 70s came from New York City It was so beautiful to look at it Sparkles like Gold when you rub your finger across the top of the buds the gold dust would be all over your fingers love it 💕great for pain/pleasure -great mood enhancer can’t wait to grow my own Acapulco gold waiting for that right to happen here in New Jersey coming soon 2022

I was very surprised with the chestnut earthy flavor and aroma, gave me light head buzz with a nice relaxing body high, definetly old school strain right there. Though I found the aroma a bit similar to the OG kush and the White Fire OG, a big nice predominent pungent smell with hint of chocolate and chestnut, I was very impressed

Over the decades it is still as popular as ever. One of the best sativas ever.great taste, very energetic.Got a very nice example of outdoor grown, amazing smell and nice tight buds, testing at 20%.Great way to kick off your day.

Acapulco is a classic that hits hard and lasts long. nothing more to say, smoke it and it speaks for itself. 9/10

In my all time top 5! This one has it all for me. I highly recommend it for pain, insomnia, stress, appetite, and more. Awesome head and body high. Smells, looks and tastes delicious. Don't pass on this one.

This strain has been a favorite for 2020! Had a bowl or two of this strain.. and its nothing but pure energy throughout the day! Definitely a good day strain!

I was raised in the 70s and this was the stuff. Great long lasting high. Full body & full mental

I came up in the early 70's, which means all the weed was named from its origin, mostly. AC Gold was the most stoney, twist your head, tickle your nether region, lay you back and slap you a few time just to make sure you know who's boss WEED! I can remember melting through a chair while soaring mentally to the awesome sound of live acoustic guitars (these guys taught me how to get high and play the guitar...). Fast forward 50 years... I just bought an eighth for $27.00 of 24% AC GOLD... This stuff is the real deal but it looks different, naturally, cause it is indoor grown, but the potency is there BIG TIME... If you can find it, BUY IT, but do pay attention to the Total Cannabinoid and THC %%... I say it should be at 20% or higher if you want to get the weed that was cured properly... IT MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE AND NOT ALL GROWERS ARE CREATED EQUAL. Peace and Cannabis to all

I got some Acapulco Gold and it has light green, medium- sized, dense buds, that you can break apart and roll a joint by hand, if you so desire. The smell of Acapulco Gold is something everyone should know. When lit it is noticeable. This strain lasts long, if prepared correctly. This has always been my favorite, and this batch is five stars, all the way! All the strains that I review are my favorite. Acapulco Gold is just another in a long list of five star reviews, done my way.

I've been smokin weed for over 15 years and what I've noticed about a lot of ppl is the fact they usually don't know when they have this Gem of a flower.. What a spectacular strain...the overall high is amazing...Great old school original strain very potent and not for beginners at all!!!💯🎯

This is one awesome “old school” strain! I’ve always heard about it, but had never seen it available. Well, that just changed! I got an eighth of this strain in PA from Agri-Kind, testing at 15.5% THC. With a moderate THC level, I wasn’t expecting to get super stoned. Boy, was I wrong! The nugs were gorgeous; mossy green and covered in brownish hairs. It smelled like spicy citrus and a little earthy. But the high, the high is what really set this strain apart. I was baked for a good two hours on just two hits. I got mildly paranoid for a short while, but nothing that would prevent me from trying this strain again! If you get a chance, and want to try one of the truly “OG” strains, don’t pass it up!

Literally, one of the BEST strains I ever smoked in my life. Gets you creative, pumps up the mood, gives you energy and you can suddenly notice you talk a lot. :) Totally awesome.

A quick head hitter and a mood up lifter. It has a rich coffee and cream taste to it smooth to your throat and lungs.Vaping this has a different feel and taste than smoking for sure.

I’m curing an Acapulco gold presently. Can hardly wait.

With all the crappy to average dispensary medicine around Southern AZ, I was hoping this would be the one that would stand out since you don't see it around much. Definitely better than the average around here, but not as strong as I expected. Or I just smoke too much.. Flavor reminded me of a good sinsemilla from the 80s which don't mind. If you have stuff to do around the house, this strain will give ya a little ambition, not a couch lock strain. Wish I had better memories of the AG of the late 70s early 80s, but since I don't I'll just say give it a try if you find it. Not the greatest of all time, but pretty decent medicine. I doubt you'll be disappointed. Cheers...

Ok it still is the best all around weed relax high sleep taste all the best

Acapulco Gold was introduced to us a few years ago. At that time I had the misfortune of going from a very healthy athletic man to a survivor of several lethal accidents in my line of work in petro/chem industries. From electrocution I was never supposed to survive, exposed to deadly chemicals, and a fall that shattered 4 discs in my lower back, that are I operable. I never used any type of drugs. Now my only option for severe chronic pain is prescribed opiates. I found that 2 inhalations of the gold was beneficial in so many ways it is impossible to write it all out. It actually brought clarity back into my life. Helped in so many ways. Even though I still have sexual drive,it intensifies in a beautiful way. My loss of appetite was fixed after a few minutes of intake. Unfortunately I am unable to locate. I would be happy to locate some legally. I knowmy doctor would prescribe. Broken body.

PIease read my Rockstar kush review for my history...briefly...39 years using cannabis....35 yrs every day use Have Licence Producer named Whistler Medical Marijuana that is off the charts....many strains 25% or over which is a rarity in Canada with our 60 LP's...….They have a 100% Sativa Acapulco Gold strain that was incredible......instant energy and socialability…..surprisingly strong in the lungs for a sativa....very spicy flavour....unique and took a little to get used to....potent THC strength lasted all morning which was rare considering my decades of use.....strain was 24.5% THC When its back in supply I will be first in line for it.....for sativa lovers they also have Sour Jack at 25 %....Tangerine Dream at 25.1%.....a 50-50 hybrid called Medical Glue at 27.2% and a 100% Indica called BC Rockstar at a whopping 28.6%

Just got this for the first time in like 15 years. Taste great and smells good 😊. Perfect any time, and a Sativa that's okay for anxiety or stress.

Very great euphoria on this one. Had great conversations with this one. Newbies, take it slow in this one.

Remembering old school days of it being a gold color mostly. Gave it a try, Well it let me know it was there. ☺. Then mellows after 20 min. The taste has a hint of old school which brings back memories. Still a good choice for midday pain and stress relief.😎

The most wonderful and delightful experince I have had it is a gift to humanity love light and laughter

Definitely don't have any problem remembering AG. In the early 70's we went to what was called the Under ground in Tucson and found even papers that were labeled AG rolling papers. I really miss that era!

This stuff was world famous back in the 60's and 70's when it was around in NYC, but like the Colombian gold, nowhere to be found in over 30 years!! Oh, how I miss Acapulco gold!! The sweetest tasting herb EVER!! And a wonderful. happy, fun, enjoyable high!! Thx to that Mexican sunshine!! I'll put it up against any " strain " out there now, and it will be a hands down winner!! Remembering this stuff makes me realize why I so dislike indoor grown weed. Absolutely delicious!!!

Bad Ass Weed! Smoked it once in the Army in 1975, none finer...

Awesome strain. Grew some, and it's the best ever. Definitely takes away pain, relieves depression, and leaves you with energy. LOVE IT. I'm amazed at how powerful it is.

I loved Acapulco gold. The taste, the resinous roach, the high, the calm before the storm- fastbret 1968

Figured it would've been more impressive than what it was.

Picked up a gram of this strain by Dream City 12/4/16. Harvested in October, 2016; consumed 12/8/16 in a cheap plastic bong. Packaging notes: - d-limonine 3.38%, Terpinoline .17%, Terpenes 3.55%. - Pesiticides - Azamax, Pest Out, Regalia, Safer Soap, Zerotol, Clonex. After tracking the lineages of many of my favorite strains (Banana Kush, Strawberry Cheesecake, Lavender) back to this famous strain, I was very happy to find some available near me. At a total potence of 18.1%, I wasn't really expecting a moonshot, but this stuff definitely packs that much of a punch. The aroma is a fragrant sweetness with hints of citrus. The taste is full of that citrus and a chemically aftertaste. Within a few minutes of finishing off the first bowl, all of my cares melted away. Suddenly, everything funny was hilarious. With a pleasant tingling sensation settling behind my eyes, it's time to get a couple of chores done and settle in to watch some hilarious British antics.

I smoked Gold back in the 60s too, and it was the best pot ever. Had a lid and rolled it every day before school. never had more fun in French class. Five Stars and three thumbs up.

The real Acapulco Gold that I smoked growing up in the Bay Area throughout the 60s to mid 70s was as good as gold could be to the eye and it laid your third eye meeting up with inner accession ......

Knocks the pain out and leaves me full of energy

A great productive strain, AG leads in my list of sativas. I use it to prep for any task that is going to require focus. Great for study sessions, gardening, and outdoors.

I like it! Great flavor and smooth with a lasting buzz.

Although I am a huge fan of the imported Gold family, I was not too keen on this strain. It might be my level of experience, but I found that the effects were not nearly as potent as listed above and only lasted for about an hour before I had to toke some more to keep the lift going.

This reminds me of the good 60s landrace Sativas from Mexico. I would not place it anywhere near the original outdoor imported Golds for trippy effects but it exaggerates depth perception a little bit. A few giggles may occur. Overall a great "everyday" regular Sativa that helps with stress. Be carefull not to take too many hits in a row as this one can make you dizzy if you overdo it. It has decent intensity.
